Xeesm Updates

While we made some major changes in the “plumbing” of the architecture, mainly on our genetic computing engine, we also added some neat features. Big thanks to Mark Kittleson, Jim Teeter, Pierre Miceli, Matt Ryan, Stephen Gear and others for providing cool feature requests and providing critical bug reports. Here are all the details:
New Minixeesm
Based on the widget we have we now have a better looking Mini Xeesm. You see it on the right hand side of the blog homepage. We will release it soon but if you like to play with it, here is the code to embed it in your site, blog or other places: It appears that cut and past from the blog may cause issues. So you may need to type it in (replace the % sign with the opening or closing bracket. :-(

Socializing
The contact details view is now available to all users. Click on the little icon or on the contact’s name and you see this page:

This shows you how often you visited your contacts and when was the last visit. This is a critical tool for power networker as you want to keep in touch with more people than you can remember but still be personally focused on the individuals you care about. The Social CRM / Social Selling process and thoughts behind this and more will be shown Feb 11 “Social CRM Live” presentation.
Add Contacts Rules:
To make it more clear what happens if somebody adds or uploads contacts:
1) You add a contact and add an email address (not the one in the social net list) as part of the profile
2) The email address you added is for identification but not visible to anybody.
3) If you add email or skype addresses to the social net list only YOU can see it
4) Other /PRO user can also edit that same record BUT NOT email and Skype
5) But if YOU edit the record, you can edit email and skype
6) Once we have the virtual introduction module (coming soon), the ones who are introduced can then also edit email and skype. Like you gave them the email address or skype you had in the first place.
7) If that person you entered as contact enters xeesm, he/she takes over and nobody can edit the record any longer, other than that person.
Social Sites and My Profile
We split the “My Profile” page into two separate pages as the one page got too crowded. Also it is in anticipation of upcoming extensions where we will add more to the profile page any soon.
Site Visit Report
We had a view questions so this may be a good time to answer them here:

The site visit report tells you, of the people who visited your Xeesm, where did they go from here. So somebody may have visited your xeesm and then clicked on Facebook to visit you on Facebook. Or somebody clicked on Twitter from your Xeesm. It tells you the most favorite sites of your contacts.
Why is that important?
You may feel that one network is more important than the other, now you learn where your “Social Traffic” is heading. Here at the Xeesm team we are all astound to see what people like. Our boss was very surprised how many people go on his social bookmarking sites – so what will he do? Take a bit more care of it ;-)
Dispatcher Cleaner
We also added the “Clean Dispatcher” function, so you can clean up your dispatcher.
And we fixed a few bugs:
- URL test on Skype won’t issue an error message
- Add a user turns email and now also Skype to “network only” so it won’t be seen on the public xeesm
- We had a bug for a day on the photo upload that is fixed
- We fixed the custom color background issue (PRO only)
- And a lot of little things to clean up, restructure…
As always, let us know what you think.
Sorry – it appears cut and past won’t work from the blog. We updated the post. And we will add the correct code in the settings later today. Sorry about that. — Rob
Hello Rob, I embeded the new xeesm at my blog
http://purgly.blogspot.com
Unfortunately is not working now.
So I deleted it from this blog.
Please let me know when the new version is checked and functional so I can embed it again.
Best Regards,
Jorge
I’m happy to be part of the XeeSM network! Thanks for the info.
When you place the mini xeesm in – do you only replace “yourname” with wendysoucie? I tried it both ways and still get an error.
Looking good, folks. Really looking good. Love the changes.
